Wow, time stands still for no one...not even me.  The days turned to weeks and the weeks to months and months to years.
Cody took her sweet time to warm up to me.  She did do a lot of growling and snapping at me.  In her last year, she was getting better towards me...Tail wags when I got home, little playful barks now and then and then the last six weeks were total care...lifting her and moving her and pee pads all over. Cleaning her from her incontinence, frequent turning and repositioning.  It was challenging and she did pass away on July 18th, 2013.  My wonderful cousins buried her on their property for me.
Taco and Belle are still her and going strong.  They seem more relaxed and so am I.  I don't have to line the house with pee pads or newspapers...we can all go enjoy the backyard now...couldn't do it  because Cody couldn't make the steps.  So, life continues on.  I will try and post more about my two special kids and add some photos...thanks for reading my blog! :)

A year of weirdness

Yes, weirdness.  Cody has been here for a whole year.  Taco acts up all the time. And Belle...well, she is just a sweetie!  All three are here yet!  All three are babies!  All three are getting better, but time will tell.  We still have the occasional growl or bark, but most of the time they all find a place and sleep...Taco and Belle are on the bed and Cody is next to the bed.  Hope your pets are all doing well!  Bow Wow!

Winter woes

Yes, the winter has been very nasty this year. A lot of very cold temperatures and snow and ice and wind.

The dogs are getting along pretty well. I didn't get Belle groomed through the winter as I didn't want her to be too cold. She goes for a bath and trim next week. Taco and Belle are so close to one another. Belle likes Cody, too, but she is happier to see Taco.

Cody still growls occasionally at the other dogs, but seems to be settling in well. She is having a difficult time walking and stairs are not that great..I have two dogs now I need to carry or lift. Belle fell down the basement steps and now is leary about climbing the steps into the house. We all went for a ride today and upon our return, the kids all fell asleep!

Cody and Belle snore something awful at night, but it is comforting sometimes to hear.

We had horrible thunderstorms here and I thought Taco and Belle were trying to climb into my skin. Gotta love them though. Hope to be able to send pictures when the weather improves and we get outside and enjoy things more! Hope your winter went well! Take care!

Snow

Oh the snow that fell...we didn't have as much as some places but it did hamper poor Belle. She tries so darned hard to keep up with Taco and Cody and went in the snow and stayed out too long ..poor baby came around the corner and fell and couldn't get up. I had to go get my coat on and get her. She is such a gem. I really love Belle..She snuggles up every night next to me..and when I rub her back she has a soft mmmmmm that she lets out every time I pet her. She is such a sweetie!

The kids and I are waiting for the spring thaw and warmer temperatures. It is just too cold to enjoy...

The kids!

Yes, it is winter here in Ohio. The cold weather hit hard. Temps. dropped drastically. I was afraid Belle wouldn't go outside, but she does. I did have to shovel some of the snow as it did get a little deep for her, but even with three legs off she goes into the yard! What a trouper!

Cody is settling in..She learned to go outside better and is gaining some weight. She was just bones!

I do think there is something wrong with her. She forgets how to get in the house, forgets how to go up and down steps and sometimes she just falls over. She is a good guard dog and barks when someone is around. Taco and she do the walk...all around the yard when they go out. So at least he has a buddy. He has tried to play with her but she isn't up for it...but they are getting better.

We will be spending the holidays together at home..just chilling. Hope you have a great one! Take care! And MERRY CHRISTMAS one and all!

Snow day

It is truly funny to watch the kids in the snow. This is my first year with Belle and her first encounter with snow for me. She is absolutely a comic! She didn't know what to make of it, but she did go outside and do her business.

Cody is settling in a bit. We still have issues with eating...have to separate everyone, but they are getting better. I can now leave dry food out and when the kids are hungry they eat. Cody doesn't gobble everything in sight! She lets me know when she wants to go outside and barks to come in!

The three kids do go outside and are good when out there. Cody will bark at people walking by. Belle will bark when Cody comes in....I tell you I have some silly kids.

New addition

Taco and Belle are doing well. Little Belle is just a sweetheart.

Got a call about fostering another dog....she was abandoned in an empty house, full of fleas and lost her fur...age? her name was Molly 22.

You know me. I just can't say no, so we have a new addition to our little family....Cody. It is taking time to get her adjusted to the routine. Things are going slowly. She is finally going down and up the steps. She goes to the back door when she wants out. So some progress is made. Just need to get Taco to accept her.

Belle jumped off the couch barking and going after Cody when she first got here! She sure loves her mommy....Taco just growls every time she comes into a room....Hopefully things will get better!

Was told Cody didn't stay outside too long...ha, this dog won't come in! She loves the cold outdoors!
